KINGSTON GARDEN CLUB

MEETING MINUTES  AUGUST 17, 2005

 Annika called our meeting to order at the home of Betty T at 12 noon.

 Hostesses for the day: Carol M,  Frieda L, Laurie Y and Ann I.

 Hospitality: Guests included Laura N.  Noel L will be her mentor.

 Minutes:  June minutes approved as circulated. 

 Treasurer’s report:  Norma reported our bank balance was $4918.68.

 Unfinished Business: Laurie Y asked that there be a report in October about what is being done for the Aloha Wright Grant program.

 New Business:  Annika announced that all slots had been filled for monthly meeting hostesses, design of the day and committee chairs.

Meetings will be regularly held at the Redeemer Church.

Sharon M told us that the September meeting would be held at the church and followed by a fieldtrip to Dragonfly Farms (4.8 miles from Albertsons on Hansville Road).  Subject:  “Right Plant, Right Place”.

Sylvia P announced that the new yearbooks will be distributed at the September meeting, and we may or may not use the cardstock covers from last year.

 Budget proposal 2005-2006: Norma T, on behalf pf Alice presented the proposed budget for 2005-2006.  Unanimous vote to accept the budget.

 Motion: Cathy M, our Bylaws chair presented a motion to re-align the committees as follows:

Motion seconded and  passed unanimously.

 Historian:  Annika on behalf of historians, Alice and Betty put out a request for photos for the scrapbook.  Please get them to Alice.

Announcements    (Five minutes allowed)

Pat M announced that she will share Iris’s from Iris Acres.  She will also present information on how to divide and store Iris’s at the October meeting. 

Sylvia said that she would work on seedlings for perennials.  Please contact her.

Elaine read a poem.
