KINGSTON GARDEN CLUB
MEETING MINUTES FEBRUARY 21, 2007

Diann K. called our meeting to order at the Redeemer United Methodist Church 10:55 am.
Members Present: 27 members, 6 guests
Pledge of Allegiance:
Hostesses for the Day: Thank you: Alice M., Wendy T., Dawn V. A great job with the Mardi Gras theme.
Hospitality:
1. Thank You to Mary S for helping out with Hospitality
2. Trudy V. is going to help out with Hospitality
3. Guests: Carol, Alisa, Sura, Robin, Trudy (who became members) and Shelly,
Minutes: Minutes were disbursed by email and approved by the members
Treasurer’s report: Alice M. reported our bank balance was $3,288.50
Sunshine Committee: Elaine mentioned that Barbara G. would appreciate notes
Ways & Means:
1. Noel discussed Tupperware, if interested, let her know.
2. Wendy T. has donated the Hellebore Centerpieces for Sale $4/gallon and a silent auction on the huge White Hellebore
Unfinished Business:
1. Diane D reported that $200 was given to Sharenet and $200 to the Kingston food bank. It was suggested that gifts be divided between the two organizations next year.
2. Annika has completed the 1950’s history section of the website
3. Plant Sale: Sign-up’s were passed to have plants divided.
Kay P. is selling raffle tickets. Prizes include a bird bath donated by Valley Nursery.
4. Gwen W. discussed the Vancouver trip. Those interested should give her a $100 deposit.
5. Sharon N. discussed community beautification involvement and club agreed to do cleanup on March 31st. Meet at the John L. Scott office at 9 am. Nancy M. was contacted by a young lady who requested to take over the Library’s plant maintenance. Club agreed.
6. Kay P. discussed 4th of July, a show of hands indicated low interest.
New Business:
1. Nominating Committee (3) for officers for 2007-2008 Mary, Nancy, and Jerrianne
Design of the Day: Roddy R. presented a display of roses and Star Magnolia.
Show & Tell: 1. Bobbi W. discussed her trip down the Amazon
Door Prizes: Alice M., Nancy M., Noel L.
Announcements:
1. Nancy M. announced the Kingston Open House Tuesday 2/27. Bobbi will bring the computer.
March Meeting: 3/21/06: Fay Linger, Master Gardener, with a life long interest in native plants and birds, will intrigue you with her wisdom and knowledge of gardening with native plants.
