Diann K. called our meeting to order at the Redeemer United Methodist Church at 10:50am.

 

Members Present:                     30 members and 4 guests

 

Hostesses:                                Bobbi W, Carol D.

 

Minutes:                                    Minutes were distributed by e-mail and approved by the members

 

Treasurer’s Report:                     Alice M. reported our bank balance as $5,849.31.  Alice started accepting next year’s renewal membership fees. 

 

 

Ways and Means:                      Pam W. announced that this years total was about $300.

 

New Business:                         

1.       Committee Sign-ups.  Sheets were passed and help solicited

a.       Bobbi W. asked for help with programs. "She asked each person to suggest one program or speaker they would really like to have during the following year."

2.       Aloha Wright Grant:  One application was discussed and funds allocated to a teacher at Wolfle for development of a Native Plants Garden.

3.       Blanche Gray:  Laura announced dates of shows and asked for sign-ups.

4.       Induction of new officers

Design of the Day:         Maxine H. brought a bouquet from her garden which included spirea, hosta, heuchera, Josephs Coat, Lady’s Mantel, Persecaria and others

 

Show & Tell:                  Elaine J. brought three different clematis: Blue Light, Rhapsody, Duchess of Windsor and “Blue Boy” Rhodie.

                                    Carol M. brought Nigella.

 

Door Prizes:                  Bobbi W, Kris T, Dawn V.

 

Announcements:            1. Pam W. discussed beautification and suggested that local  

                                                businesses become involved.     

2.   Sharon N. announced Kingston cleanup on June 30.

 

August Picnic:  August 15 at Betty T’s.

 

The meeting adjourned at 11:40 a.m.
