GARDEN CLUB MEETING MINUTES
October 19, 2005
President Annika M called our meeting to order at the Redeemer Methodist Church at 9:36am.
Forty three members were present.
Hostesses for the day: Linda M, Ann W and Alice M.
Thank you Carol M for being Hostess Coordinator.
Hospitality: Guests included Susan K.
New Members: Carol D
Design of the Day: Linda M presented a pumpkin filled with Dahlias, Echinacea, Mums and Sage
Minutes: September minutes approved as sent out.
Treasurer’s report: Alice M reported our bank balance was $4714.57.
Unfinished Business: None
New Business: Carol M, our Hostess Coordinator said that Ways and Means would reimburse any Hostess of the Day $10. if they wished. Contact Carol for reimbursement.
Laurie Y reported that hostesses would no longer be responsible for door prizes. Instead 3 members will be chosen and they should each bring one $5. or under item that relates to Garden Club. If you are unable to attend the meeting, get your contribution to another member. We are counting on you.

Sylvia P discussed various fund raising ideas, including an auction at the July picnic.
Sharon M told us that the November meeting will have the theme Holiday Inspirations. If you can give the club a demonstration of some holiday project, please sign up.
Jan H reported on Aloha Wright Program. She passed out sample applications and took a straw vote on member’s interest for size of project. Please share the application with any potential applicants.
Ann I reported on the success of the Blanche Gray shows.
Norma T and Elaine J acknowledged member’s anniversaries. Barbara W was recognized as a Lifetime Member of the club.

Darlyne Nurseries in Hansville has stock for sale at 20% off, call 638-1948 for hours
It was asked that the Pledge of allegiance be said at the meeting.
Linda M asked that we remember the Plant Sale.
Garden Ideas: Use bottle caps or rounds of PVC under pots on decks. Crumble Oasis into garden pots when discarding.
NOTE DATE CHANGE: Carol M announced that the December Holiday Lunch would be on Thursday 12/15/05 at 11:30. it will be at the Redeemer Church AND BE CATERED FOR A $10. CHARGE. There will be a talent show. Please bring a gift for a child and wrapping paper for the food bank.
Today’s program: Bess Bronstein will present a program on pruning. After the meeting Pat M will teach us how to care for dahlias at this time.
