MEETING MINUTES 

SEPTEMBER 21, 2005

President Annika M called our meeting to order at the Redeemer Methodist Church at 9:32am.

Hostesses for the day: Roddy R, Marilyn K and Reji D. 

Thank you Pat M for being Hostess Coordinator.

Hospitality: Guests included Kris T, Diann K, Margo K, Sharon A, Carol D and Don B. 

      New Members: Kris T and Diann K.

Design of the Day: Maxine H presented a design which included Hydrangeas Paniculata “Unique”, Pia, and Annabelle, Abelia (bush form) and Sedum Autumn Joy and Motrona 

Minutes: August minutes approved as corrected. 

      Corrections: Norma T was also a hostess in August. The Poem read was about Hardy Cyclamen.

Treasurer’s report: Alice M reported our bank balance was $4803.92.

Unfinished Business: Ann I reported on the successful Blanche Gray show at Gordon 9/15 and asked for more volunteers for tomorrow, 9/21.

Cathy M thanked many people involved with the show.

New Business:  Sylvia P of Ways and Means discussed items for sale.

      Please take your unsold items with you after the meeting.

Sharon M told us that the October meeting would be held at the church. Bess Bronstein will present a program on pruning. After the meeting Pat M will teach us how to put dahlias to bed. Please bring your tubers clean and dried. The dahlias should be cut back at the end of September.

Sylvia P announced that the new yearbooks were passed out at sign in.

Thank you to Sylvia and Gwen W and Jan H for all their yearbook work. They are fabulous.

Motion: Roddy R moved that we increase our monthly payment to the church from $25. to $35. Motion was discussed and passed unanimously.

Door Prizes Hospitality awarded prizes to Sylvia P, Sandy, and Maxine H.

Announcements  (Garden Club Related)

Foxglove Nursery will have a 20% discount thru the end of October.

Ann I announced that 3 x 5 cards were available for information (plant names) that should be spelled correctly in the minutes or other items discussed at the meeting.

Sharon announced that Kingston Calendars were for sale. Proceeds benefit Kingston Revitalization.

The hostesses request a $.35 donation for coffee.

Roddy presented lost and found items.

Annika announced that the church has cookbooks for sale.

 

Our meeting adjourned at 10:25. 

Followed by a fieldtrip to Dragonfly Farms (4.8 miles from Albertsons on Hansville Road).
