KINGSTON GARDEN CLUB

MEETING MINUTES AUGUST 16, 2006

Diann K called our meeting to order at the home of Betty T at 11:40 am.

26 Members Present.

Hostesses for the Day:     Carol M, Virginia T and Ann I and thanks to Betty T for hosting our picnic.

Hospitality:                      Guests included Helga B and Margo K

Minutes:                          June minutes approved as circulated. 

Treasurer’s report:          Alice reported our bank balance was $4,322.77. Alice also passed out an expense sheet for 2005-2006 and a proposed budget for next year.

Unfinished Business:

1. Ann I asked for more sign-ups for this year’s shows on September 14 and September 21.

2. Aloha Wright Grant Money has been dispersed to Stillwaters and Wolfle Trail renovation.  Funds also dispersed to Kingston 4^th of July fund.

3. Membership signup continues. We have 48 paid members.   Please bring a friend to a meeting.  We could use youth and energy!

New Business:

1. We continue to look for leadership for a few of our committees.

2. Thank you to Bobbi W for her outstanding web site.  Please check it out! www.kingstongardenclub.com

3. Yearbook:  Bobbi presented a modified yearbook and asked that members check their vital information.

Budget proposal 2006- 2007:

Alice M presented the proposed budget for 2006-2007. 

Motion seconded and passed unanimously.

Historian:                        Alice M reported that A Binder of Garden Club History was available for member’s perusal.

Announcements:             Savage Plants is extending a 15% discount to Garden club members year round.

September meeting:        9/20/06:  Mary Robson speaking on Seven Habits of Happy Gardeners

Our meeting adjourned at 12:10.
