GARDEN CLUB
MEETING MINUTES May 17, 2006
 
 
President Annika M called our meeting to order at the Redeemer Methodist Church at 9:35am.
A quorum of members was present.

Hospitality: 
Guests today: Bonnie B, Bonnie C and Dawn V.
      New Members: Mary S, Pam W and Bonnie B.
Minutes: April minutes were approved as circulated.
Design of the Day: Elaine J presented Beauty and the Beasts: a display of rhodies and nasty weeds!
Treasurer’s report: Alice M reported our bank balance was $4832.35.
Unfinished Business:
None
New Business: 
  1. Alice M passed our membership forms and a request for the payment of dues at $15.
  2. Linda M (and Alice) reported on the plant sale earnings. We had a profit of $1911.26.  Expenses: $170.  Raffle Income:  $286l  Plant Sale income:  $2081.96
  3. Ann W thanked everyone for their plant sale help and announced that the unsold iris rhizomes donated by Pat M were available for planting. Please plant for eventual return for KGC annual plant sales.
  4. Jan H reported on the Aloha Wright Grant Recipient, Dan Price with Gordon Elementary. The project will construct a “safe route to school”. The project was granted $1000.
  5. Annika reported for Bobbi W and the website. Anyone not wanting their photo on the website should sign the sheet.
  6. Elaine J read a thank you from Vi of the Food Bank
  7. Discussion: Fourth of July
Show and Tell: 
Wendy T brought unusual tomatoes. They are for sale on the ways and means table.
Laurie Y brought calendulas, also for sale.

Announcements (Garden Club Related)
      Sharon M announced that there would be gardens to tour after the June Business meeting.
